With over 50 years experience, William Adams has delivered over 100 specially modified Caterpillar machines to many Antarctic stations for a range of tasks that include cargo handling, road making, snow clearing, excavation and site preparation. In 1990 William Adams introduced the Caterpillar rubber-tracked Challenger tractor to Antarctica and today many Antarctic programs use the “Traverse Special” Challenger for their scientific and cargo traverse operations across the continent with more than 30 units delivered. The company also manufactures rubber tracked trailers, many specialised machine attachments and is involved in the supply of Caterpillar electric power co-generation equipment to the sector.
